🏠 Why don't we see families on San Francisco's streets, even as family homelessness climbs? Homelessness is one of the city's hottest topics, with new bills and proposals every day. But this year, while overall homelessness in San Francisco decreased by 4%, family homelessness increased by 14%. So where are these families, and why are they struggling to find housing? Giovanna Lomanto, Marketing and Annual Giving Manager at Raphael House, the city's oldest shelter for family homelessness, walks us through the complex web of systems that families must navigate. Drawing on her lived experience with direct services and her research in sociology, she explains what makes this crisis different and often invisible. We will meet the providers offering support and explore concrete ways we can make an impact as a community. Come ready to see a familiar issue in a new light. 💛 Learn more about Raphael House: raphaelhouse.org *Venue Note This venue asks guests to sit on floor seats during the lecture.
