The full title of the work, “ BAILAORA, Mis pies son mi voz ” ("My feet are my voice"), defines her percussive footwork as her expressive voice. The piece creates a kinetic experience that infuses Latin jazz and world music into a percussive dialogue between dancer and musicians that is as thrilling as it is soul-stirring. Composed and directed by fifth-generation flamenco maestro Juan Parrilla, the production features an ensemble of seven world-class flamenco musicians directly from Spain. Alongside Garrido’s acclaimed flamenco ballet, the work departs from folkloric, traditional flamenco and embarks on a journey of unique and contemporary expression—delivering breathtaking precision, stunning costumes, and the unmistakable passion of flamenco.
