San Francisco Symphony: Elim Chan Conducts Adams and Mendelssohn

the vibe

Elim Chan conducts a quartet of works that delve into the great unknown: Choral works by Brahms and Arvo Pärt lay a meditative foundation, while Renaud Capuçon performs Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with its lustrous melodies and glittering pyrotechnics. John Adams's Doctor Atomic Symphony cloaks Nuclear Age anxiety in dark orchestral splendor. Thursday - Saturday, October 29-31, 2026 at 7:30pm, Davies Symphony Hall.
