Get ready for the time of your life. Dance Film SF invites you to a memorable evening celebrating one of the most beloved dance films ever made. We're bringing Dirty Dancing back to the big screen — and we're bringing along the artist whose choreography made it unforgettable. Join us for a special screening followed by a live Q&A with Emmy Award-winning choreographer Kenny Ortega who shaped every move of this iconic film. A Bay Area native and one of Hollywood's most decorated creative forces, Ortega will share behind-the-scenes stories of how the film came together, his craft of designing choreography for the camera, and personal reflections from a career that has spanned generations from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Newsies to the High School Musical trilogy and his creative partnership with Michael Jackson. The evening will also mark a special milestone: the presentation of DFSF's Embodiment Award to Ortega, recognizing his extraordinary and lasting contributions to the world of dance and film. And the party doesn't stop there. VIP and Arts Patron ticket holders are invited to an exclusive afterparty following the Q&A, featuring drinks, giveaways, and a themed dance party to close out the night in style.
