Ensambles Ballet Folklórico de San Francisco celebrates 30 years with Anniversary of the Pearl at the Blue Shield of California Theater at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Join us on an enchanting journey spanning 500 years of Mexican culture and tradition. Anniversary of the Pearl is a spectacular presentation of Mexican folkloric dance that offers a glimpse into the history that has shaped the ethnic melting pot that is Mexico today. The dancers, wearing exquisite, handcrafted costumes, will transport you through different regions of Mexico, each with their own rich blend of Indigenous, European, and African influences. Featuring live music by Vinic-Kay, the phenomenal folkloric music ensemble led by José Roberto Hernandez, you will hear both traditional and original musical compositions, culminating in a homage to Juan Gabriel, the legendary Mexican singer-songwriter. Special guest appearance by the youth of Mariachi Media Luna of Half Moon Bay
