Roxie Neon Screening and VIP Reception for Neon Speaks

This screening at the Roxie Theater on September 19 starting at 2 PM showcases San Francisco-centric neon footage, primarily focused on lost neon landscapes in Chinatown. Hosted by Al and Randall, the program features archival material from the Prelinger Archive and home-movie footage of mid-century neon signs on Grant Avenue, alongside neon location clips from classic films shot in Chinatown including Flower Drum Song and Midnight in Chinatown. The event also celebrates the restoration of the Golden Star Radio neon sign. A VIP reception with limited capacity precedes the screening at the Roxie Theater reception room (518 Valencia) and includes cake and popcorn; VIP tickets are sold out but regular tickets are available directly from the Roxie website.
