Famed 1980's & 90's NYC Club DJ Jonny Sender (FR) brings 50 years of Underground Club Music vibes to Mothership. Jonny Sender is a musician, DJ and a native New Yorker who began playing records in the 1980s, starting with a residency at the Pyramid in the East Village, a hotbed of alternative drag performance and music. At the same time, he was playing bass and guitar in Konk, a band that – along with fellow travelers like Liquid Liquid and ESG, was front and center in that era of intense boundary-free experimentation when disco and hip-hop was colliding with post-punk and electronics. Konk performed at many hallowed venues including Larry Levan's Paradise Garage, Mudd Club, Danceteria, David Mancuso’s Loft, The Pyramid Club and CBGB. Konk released singles on 99 Records, Sleeping Bag, Rough Trade, and an LP on Les Disques du Crépuscule as well as their own imprint Dog Brothers. Their music was included on the Disco Not Disco Series on Strutt Records. Their complete catalog has been re-
