🧘 Most people think yoga is a form of exercise. For most of its history, it wasn't. Long before yoga studios, athletic poses, and expensive mats, yoga was a sophisticated system for understanding the mind. Developed over thousands of years, it sought to answer some of humanity's oldest questions: Why do we suffer? Why do we get stuck in certain patterns? And is it possible to change the way we experience ourselves and the world? In this lecture, Gabi Gazzola, yoga therapist and educator trained in India, explores the philosophical foundations of yoga from its roots in Sāmkhya philosophy to Patañjali's Eight Limbs. Drawing on a decade of study and practice, she reveals how the physical postures most people associate with yoga represent just one small part of a much larger framework for understanding human consciousness. Blending ancient philosophy with modern perspectives on self-regulation and well-being, this talk offers a new way to think about the mind, behavior, and personal transformation. 🧘✨ *Venue Note This venue asks guests to sit on floor seats during the lecture.
