While often used to describe excessive, AI-generated, engagement-optimized media, slop is increasingly becoming a dominant condition of contemporary culture. Epistemologies of Slop is an exhibition exploring how meaning, trust, and culture are produced under conditions of algorithmic excess. Bringing together artists, technologists, designers, researchers, and system-builders, the exhibition investigates how truth, culture, and meaning are made in the age of AI-generated media. The exhibition approaches slop not only as an aesthetic, but as a social, technical, economic, and psychological condition. Some works critique slop.
