Sewing Basics: Custom Pouches

Come learn how to sew, make your own custom pouch, and support a local nonprofit! 🪡🧵 In the first part of class, we’ll go over the basics of sewing; how to set up and use a sewing machine, understand the different settings, and feel comfortable sewing on your own. No experience needed! Then, you’ll create your very own lined pouch from start to finish. You’ll be able to customize the size, choose from different fabrics, and decorate it however you’d like. You could make the pouch to be for your laptop, book, anything you can think of! This beginner-friendly project is a fun way to practice sewing, pressing seams, and learning techniques like adding interfacing and linings. At the end, we’ll have lace, ribbons, buttons, grommets, charms, and other cute details so you can make your pouch uniquely yours. We’ll also be donating half of every ticket to HOMEY, a nonprofit supporting youth in the Mission through leadership programs and creative workshops. Can’t wait to sew with you!
